Amanda Knox was found guilty of killing British student

Student United States (U.S.) in Italy was sentenced to 26 years in prison Saturday, December 5, 2009, as found guilty of killing British student.

In 2007, Amanda Knox killed a friend who is also an apartment with him, MeredithKercher, in her bedroom in Perugia, Italy. Meanwhile, Knox's former boyfriend, RaffaeleSollecito, was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

They both also found guilty for committing sexual violence against Kercher. Knox cried as the judge read the verdict of the court in Perugia a few moments after the Fridaymidnight.

A few minutes later, 22 year-old Seattle student and Italian man 25 years was taken out of the room. The verdict was lighter than the prosecution, namely that life imprisonmentis the most rigid punishment in Italy.



The court also ordered Knox and Sollecito to pay one million euros in Kercher's motherand the same number for the victim's father.
While the brothers each victim will receive 800,000 euros. Knox also have to pay 40,000euros to the local residents Patrick Lumumba because Knox accused him of murder.

Kercher's half-naked body was found covered in blood with his throat was seriously injured in his room. Besides Knox and Sollecito, a drug dealer Rudy Guede, was also involved in the incident.

Guede has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for murder and sexual assault in October
